Bonding at the Touch of a Button

From architects and graphic designers to trade fair booth installers and automobile upholsterers: Hardly anyone involved in fabrication, whether in industry or trade, can get by today without adhesion. Bonding materials over a large surface represents a particular challenge in this process, especially when the substances to be glued together are different and have varying weights.

Starting right now, though, the challenging steps involved in the adhesion process will be made easier by three professional spray adhesives, an industrial cleaner, and an adhesive remover. The full product range from tesa for larger-area adhesion bonds a wide variety of different materials, from ABS and PVC up to foam rubber and metal. The adhesion processes are optimized by the industrial cleaner, which is used to prepare the surfaces, and the adhesive remover, which corrects application errors.

The different characteristics of the spray glue trio provide an efficient solution for nearly any material and any type of adhesion desired. tesa® Spray Glue PERMANENT 60021 ensures permanent adhesion of lightweight materials in particular, such as paper, fabric, and Styrofoam®. Its fine, even mist guarantees excellent adhesion results on both smooth and slightly uneven surfaces.

Extra-strong hold, especially on rough and porous surfaces such as foam and fabric, is offered by tesa® Spray Glue EXTRA STRONG 60022. This temperature-resistant spray adhesive also permanently bonds heavy materials such as wood and metal. A vario valve with infinitely variable spray quantity control helps form an even film of glue on a broad array of surfaces while at the same time ensuring practical handling.

The graphics industry, the advertising sector, trade fair booth setup, and model construction are dominated by temporary adhesion processes. With tesa® Spray Glue REPOSITIONABLE 60023, lightweight materials such as advertising billboards, posters, or templates can be easily removed and repositioned. The UV-resistant transparent spray glue creates a thin, even adhesive film. It can then be applied more thickly, or on both sides, to achieve permanent adhesion. And yet, whether or not a permanent hold is needed, the quality of the glue prevents bleed-through, warping, and discoloration and meets the stringent visual standards that apply in the graphics segment.

The new product range is completed by two industrial cleaners for spray applications. tesa® INDUSTRY CLEANER 60040 removes various types of soiling and residue and optimally prepares surfaces for subsequent gluing. tesa® ADHESIVE REMOVER 60042 eliminates adhesive residue and can therefore be used to correct virtually any mistake made during the glue application, for example if glue is accidentally sprayed past the intended area or the wrong adhesive tape is used.

The spray adhesive and cleaner line from tesa for industry and trade will be available from specialized retailers starting in October 2008.
